This trek traditionally is one of the best of the year. With the weather a little warmer and drier and the track set from the ANZAC period, this trek will be one not to miss. Walk from Owers to Kokoda and see the rivers still at full flow.
Being mid-year, there are traditionally fewer people on the trail, so you wont feel so overwhelmed and you'll have more alone time at the sites of significance, in the waterfalls and at the monuments. This trek is from Owers Corner to Kokoda village. Come and enjoy a mid-year getaway.
The middle of the year is amazing time to walk Kokoda. The weather in Australia is getting cold and the weather in PNG is warm and not too humid, a perfect tropical getaway. The waterways on the trail are slower, which means you're able to swim in more of them, don't delay, book yourself a mid-year Kokoda Getaway.
In and around the mid semester school break, this is a perfect getaway for those of you with friends or children who study. For those not in this position, this is still a great trek to get away from the depth of the Australian winter. This trek date is usually popular with the Australian southern states.
An all female trek, hence it's called "Chickoda". With an all female cast and guide, the only men on this trek will be the men who are cooking, cleaning and carrying your equipment. Come and meet like minded women, make new friends and walk the Kokoda Trail with women just like you.

You will spend your second night at the Isurava Battlefield, commemorating ANZAC in this location. You will walk towards Kokoda with ANZAC having set the scene for your great adventure!
